There’s a reason we put “ocean” in the na mes of our latest eco-friendly watches: crafted from 100% upcycled ocean-bound plastic, our Reclaim Ocean and Legacy Ocean each play a part in keeping our oceans clean.

Right now, the ocean is hurting due to plastic pollution. Each year, an estimated 8 million tons of waste finds its way into the sea, and more than 1 million sea birds and 100,000 marine animals die from plastic pollution. It’s an endemic that harms vital marine ecosystems, which is why we’re redesigning our past to take care of our future by constantly thinking of new ways to bring you more sustainable styles that can take a licking and keep on ticking.

Through a partnership with #tide™, an award-winning organization that works to prevent new plastics from entering oceans, plastic is collected from the oceans, rivers, uncontrolled landfills, and along the coastlines. It’s then washed and shredded before making its way to Switzerland via carbon-neutral transportation. Finally, it’s repurposed on-site, resulting in a premium, sustainable material – the very material we use to make the cases of our Reclaim Ocean and Legacy Ocean watches.

Though they’re both built with #tide™ material, there are a few differences between our Reclaim Ocean and Legacy Ocean watches:

  • Our Reclaim Ocean appears in a versatile blue or black colorway and features a slip-through fabric strap that’s also made from #tide™ recycled ocean plastic. It features a scratch-resistant mineral glass lens, 30m of water resistance, and an INDIGLO® backlight for optimal visibility.
  • Meanwhile, the #tide™ case of our Legacy Ocean is accompanied by a #tide™ bracelet. It also makes a statement in two different case sizes and a few different colorways: the 42mm case comes in classic black or earthy olive, while the 37mm case appears in bright pink or a pretty shade of purple. It’s built with luminant hands so you can read the time in low light conditions, and 30m of water resistance.

Though they certainly look great on the wrist, choosing one of these timepieces isn’t just a fashion statement. It’s a conscious decision to join the movement toward a cleaner tomorrow, where style and sustainability go hand-in-hand. So, choose your favorite, and let’s give our oceans a brighter future (and look good doing it).
