Timex Originals Classic Round

Review:

I'm a longtime Timex fan (with the exception of owning a Seiko, Casio and Armitron in my long watch history), so when I saw this product, I snapped mine up. Two other times I owned a white-band Timex: a Mickey Mouse watch as a back-to-school gift when I was little and a discontinued watch with its gradually-growing bigger numbers in sequential rainbow form). So this came into my possession.

Like Apple did with the 4th Gen iPod touch, Aesthetically, I think this product's face could be slightly more compact while still accommodating its big-face style, the band narrower slightly for the same reason. And the time marks could be a pinch deeper in their pastels; better still, why not stick with the time marks in rainbow form? It feels, in wearing this for a short time, a bit clunky and bulky in its boxy style that works well with other accessories for summertime wear. If that's your style, you've got a brilliant watch in this potential summer classic. It's not mine, reminding me a little of a Smart Car's clunkiness.

Its big face reminds me of my grandmother having a gigantic, neon orange, 6' diameter wall clock in her basement when I was small, and this face brings back good memories of that (Flava Flave, anyone? :-)). The hands make placement easy to see, the Indiglo® backlight a soft blue. Overall, the product earns a B 4/5 stars, but for the aesthetics mentioned. Mechanics, as always, are up to Timex's usual high standard, and on that end, there's no issues.

I think it'll grow on me. This product works well in spring dresses, winter bundling or summertime fun. I would recommend this product to someone if they say my watch.
