Review:
I love, love, love this watch! I have been wearing timex ironman watches for nearly 20 years. Therfore, when I tried other heart-rate monitors they never felt right. The buttons were in the wrong place, the menus were in the wrong order, or didn't make sense. This watch was easy to use and is the logical progression in the ironman series.
Unfortunately, the resin band broke and timex does not expect to have a replacement for three months (february 2010). The narrow lugs make it hard to fit an aftermarket cloth strap on the watch. Large straps dont fit the lugs, small straps don't fit my wrist. Soooooo, I'm left to wait in limbo. Sigh:{(.Battery life, comfortable, easy to read, Performance, reliable, Worn all the timedurabilityTakes a licking . . . keeps on ticking.

Review:
When my Polar's display died after only 9 months, I was looking for a new HRM. Recalling I'd seen an Ironman HRM at Target, I began researching, and finally settled on this one. I liked the 100 lap function, which would be helpful for swimming (training for an Ironman, thanks). Set up of the watch was a little counter intuitive, but I got it after a day or two. Using it on a run was great: it shows time in various zones, average HR, etc. The preset zones are a little tight, but if you know your target to begin with, it's no problem. The summary mode is excellent...you see your time for each lap, among other things, and can see HR for each lap, too. Two minor complaints: the Indiglo is not as bright as I'd like for pre-dawn runs, and I haven't been able to figure out how to make the alarms sound for each zone. The manual is unclear on this. I can get sound/no sound for all zones at once, but not for individual ones. Still, I really like the watch.Solid, dependable devices. The face decals wear off before the digitalwatches fail, and by then you're ready for another one.
