    Great Watch, broken band

  • I loved the features of this watch - the alarms, the chrono feature, the light - all work perfectly. Unfortunately, the watch band is breaking away bit by bit. First the little band that held the strap down, now one side of the band itself. So disappointing, because the watch is still working fine. Wish I could replace the band, but it seems to be integrated with the watch itself. Bummer.

    fragile band.

Broken band renders the otherwise excellent watch useless.

    Broken Band

  • I absolutely loved this watch... at least for the first year! After a year, a chunk of the band broke off, so I had a huge gap. Thankfully it was where there were two parts of rubber holding it together. I was still able to wear it, even though it was broken. A month after that, the band pulled away from the actual watch, making it useless. I was really bummed because I liked the style of the watch. I want to buy another one, but it's a lot of money for something that will break in a year.

I love the watch, but wish it lasted longer. Timex is a great brand, but needs to stick with quality.

    Great watch, not great band

  • I got this watch as an anonymous gift after my family suffered a house fire and we lost all of our belongings. I was so pleased to get this Timex since my kids & I are all runners but I would never buy something so nice for myself. I wear it all the time and use it not only to time my runs, but my kids cross country & track races. I love the timing & alarm feature, the sleek style & blue is my favorite color too (and to think I got this from someone who doesn't know me well)! Unfortunately, like 9 of the other 11 reviewers, the band on mine has broken too! I am reluctantly to toss it--true to a Timex, the watch keeps ticking so I just keep taping the peices together so I can keep wearing it.

    It's a Timex!!!

    Band is breaking

  • I agree with the previous post. It's a great watch until the band started to peel away from the top and bottom of the watch face. I have had 2 other similar watches over the years and they have both lasted 3+ years. I've only had this one for 10 months and it's already breaking.

Until this particular watch I would have definitely said Yes, but with the poor quality of this watch, I am hesitant.

    Owned two in two years

  • I love the watch itself, the features are great and I use them all, but the watch doesn't seem to last! I bought the first one, and it lasted just over a year, at which time the face fogged up and now the time reads S I L or something similar. I wear it swimming in pools (never in the shower), and I have begun to doubt that it is actually waterproof. I went ahead and bought another just in May and now the band is coming away from the watch itself at the top left part. It wasn't hit against anything or damaged, it just started to separate. Not sure which will be my next watch...I like the features of this one, but I don't think I can afford one every one or two years! Besides the fact I'd have to pay AGAIN to mail it in for repair and be without a watch for a couple of weeks. Too bad.

strap comes apart, face fogs up after going in water.

It's not as reliable as I thought.

  • I bought this watch for my college aged daughter last Christmas. She wore it all last summer as a camp counselor - no problems. But when she went abroad and wore it swimming in the ocean, it filled with moisture and is now unreadable. Waterproof? Really? Not sure it's worth the hassle to submit for repair...needless to say, we are both very disappointed.

    very disappointed in this purchase

    Wife loves it

  • My wife had a timex ironman watch that she loved. She wore it little under two years and the band has gone kaput. She was sad to see it go so I got her this one. Looks great. She says it's comfortable. Hope it keeps ticking like the last one.

Good watch but this material in particular seemed to stain (orange model). Waiting to see how long this band holds up. But you make a good overall product and stand behind them which I appreciate

    Terrible Watch

  • I bought this less than a year ago and it was completely falling apart within months. The snap piece which holds the band in place snapped off,. Later the plastic seemed to be coming off the actual watch itself and never fit back onto the actual frame and just recently the rest of the band broke so it's completely unwearable. I've always worn Timex watches and had the bands last for years, this just seems to be a bad prototype. And definitely not worth how much was paid for it.

    Quality, Value

Overall throughout my life I've worn Timex and I've worn the watches for years after I bought them. Recently however the quality seems to have diminished while the price has increased, I used to buy 40 dollar watches and now I've had 60-100 dollar watches fall short on quality.

    Such a Great Watch

  • I've had this watch for at least 3 years. I wear it everyday. I use it for timing cross country runs and of course just telling the time. I've had it for so long that the screen has gotten scratched up to the point where I can't really see the time. I'd say it's time to get a new watch. It has been great for the three+ years I have had it and well worth the money.

    Great products.

    Great watch, but band broke

  • I have owned this watch for about two years now. I wear it to work out in and also love it because I can swim in it. I would recommend it to others except my band has now pulled away from the head on the top and bottom. It is unfortunate because the watch still works.....

.comfortable, easy to read, Performance, reliable

    band pulled away from head

Your company has a great reputation and the watch itself is amazing.

  • This is a great watch with great features! I look forward to using this watch for a long time.

Great watch while the band lasted

  • The watch itself is great. I bought it when my twin babies were born to keep track of the craziness. The interval timers, 3 alarms, night light were all very helpful. However, I wish I would have paid attention to another reviewer who said the wristband doesn't last because it's true. I have had this watch for 15 months and the band separated from the watch in the top and bottom. It looks ugly and eventually will break off. The watch seems to want to last a lifetime but with a failing wristband, what's the point? It seems like a poor use of resources to have to buy a watch every year.

    Quality, Value

Not having a great experience with my current watch.

I was a loyal Timex customer...

  • I have been wearing Timex watches for the last 15 years. I usually wear each watch until it has completely exhausted its life. As the years have pasted I have noticed that the life of each new watch is considerably shorter than the last. The most recent, lasting all of 4 months! The strap is starting to break, but worst of all the screen has completely fogged up on the inside. The fact that the watch has been ruined by water is a bit surprising especially because it is supposed to be water resistant up to 100 meters. Washing hands, taking showers, and simply sweating all were done in less than 100 meters of water! I am very disappointed because I really liked the watch, that is, when i could still see the date and time!

.Worn all the time, chrono and lap memory

Quality, Value, not water resistant apparently

Useless after less than one year

  • After barely a year of purchasing this watch the strap broke off from the watch itself, allowing moisture to seep in. The watch still "works" but since the strap doesn't fit correctly around the 'body' of the watch anymore sometimes I have to press a button several times before it works.

What a disappointment, I paid extra for the brand and reputation but I'll have to look elsewhere for a quality watch.
