Like this watch, but wish interval timer was louder

  • I've used Timex Ironman watches and HRM's for many years, but this is my first GPS watch. I'm a triathlete and runner. The buttons & screens are a little confusing at first. Carefully reading the step-by-step instructions in the on-line manual helps a lot. I spent my first run fiddling with the buttons a lot and not sure what I was looking at. Reviewed the manual afterwards and I pretty much got my questions figured out. After that it became second nature very quickly on subsequent runs. The GPS works well. It takes less than a minute to pick up a signal. On cloudy days maybe a couple of minutes. Haven't had any problems losing the signal during my runs. I use a run/walk training strategy on my long runs and like having the interval timer, but the beep is barely audible and I really have to listen for it or keep checking the watch. The interval timer on my old non-GPS Ironman watch was MUCH louder, and I liked not having to check my watch and just go by the beep. Was hoping the volume might be adjustable, but nothing in the manual about it that I could find. Like this watch so far. The very attractive price is what finally convinced me to try a GPS watch. Rate it a 4 of 5, would have been 5 of 5 if the interval beeper was louder.
