    Band is terrible

  • I have had several Timex Ironmans and love them. I bought this one because it is so cute. The color quickly wore off and turned gray, then within 6 months the band fell apart and the buttons fell off the watch. The watch still works but there's no way I can use it. Timex, DISCONTINUE THIS MODEL!! IT IS SO COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE IT'S AN EMBARRASSMENT TO THE COMPANY!

    Cheap band

  • I have always liked Timex ironman watches. I got one back in 1998 that lasted ten years. The strap was fabric and had to be replaced once. This new band is cheap after a few months it seperated from the watch and then finally broke off completely. It also turned a greenish color.

Timex I would recommend, but not this model or any model with the same type of band.

    Would not buy again

  • I bought this watch on June 20, 2011. A mere 7 weeks later during the week of August 8th I noticed that the face was full of moisture. In another 2 days it completely stopped working. In addition the color of the band has faded and is no longer cool! This is my second Timex and I bought the second after my HRM Timex failed to remain waterproof. I can't afford any more of these watches which do not live up to their reputation.

Both my experiences with the brand have been negative. I am a student and I need to be able to rely on my timepiece.

    Replace Band - PLEASE!

  • I'm a diehard Ironman Timex lover. The battery life has always been amazing and it's overall a great running watch with exactly the features I need. However, the latest band is TERRIBLE. It started to fall apart after 6 months and last week the watch completely fell out without my noticing because the band was still on my wrist. Please go back to the old, reliable, replaceable bands.

Bad, non-replaceable strap. 1 died in 35 ft of H2O

  • I've had three of these--they are one of the few women's watches with multiple alarms, and I liked the date feature. The strap looks cool at first, however: 1) the strap lasts for a maximum of one year, and it cannot be replaced. The last one stretched and detached from the watch in less than 2 months; 2) if light-colored, the material gets dirty and cannot be cleaned--looks dirty. At this rate of deterioration, one needs one to two new Timex watches each year. When I took beginning scuba, my second one of these watches died from a 15-20 minute dive at a maximum depth of 35 feet.

.easy to read, had 3 alarms, date

Appearance, Performance, Quality, straps look dirty and can't be cleaned, straps make the watch unusable in 2 - 12 months, no h2o reistence at 30 feet

Straps on women's digital watches do not last more than a year, on this style and ironman style. They are uncomfortable. On one, I had to spend $13 to replace a "special" battery, and afterwards the alarms and beeps did not work. The one time I sent a watch back to Timex, the kept sending me refurbished watches that had problems that were worse than the orginal. I don't believe they were refurbished. That was many years ago, but it made me realize the extended warranty was worthless. I replaced these with a camper with a date, and I the date doesn't set properly and is too tiny.

    fine watch

  • I am a pretty serious runner, and this watch's features were very useful for me. I like how it has three alarms. However, it was supposed to be water resistant, and mine fogs up if gets even a little wet when I am washing my hands. Also, I recently fell off a boat and was in the water for less than five minutes, and my watch has now completely stopped due to water damage and can't be repaired.

    Completely disappointed

  • Over the last 20+ years, I have had numerous Timex watches, and I was very happy with the products and performance. Unfortunately, this watch is terrible, and I have to echo the comments of almost every other reviewer! Not only did the band come lose after about a year of gentle (not gym or swimming) wear and the face and labels wore off. To make things worse, it fell into a puddle a few days ago and now it is completely useless--definitely not water resistant at 100 ft if it can't handle a few seconds in a small puddle. I'd like to replace this watch with a newer version because I like the sleek style (I still have a much older Timex Triathlon that works perfectly, but is bulky), but with my personal experience and that of a large number of reviewers, I'm not sure it's worth the cost or sticking with the brand at all.

    .Battery life, comfortable, stylish

Performance, Quality, not water resistant, poor band wear

Although I've had several great experiences with Timex watches that still work, the experience with this watch makes me question quality and craftsmanship.

    Watch Band Fell Apart

  • The watch still works, but the band quickly fell off the time piece. I've looked for a replacement band but there isn't one. I DO NOT recommend this watch unless you want to carry just the time piece around in your pocket. Very disappointing.

    So disappointed! Not WATER RESISTANT!

  • The last Timex Ironman watch that I had seemed to last forever. I went with this pink one (because my daughter picked it out) after my last Timex finally went kabootz! After spending an afternoon at the kiddie pool, barely getting the watch wet, it died from condensation . . . just like the last several reviews. I am so disappointed and frustrated especially since I have had this watch for less than 2 weeks! THIS IS THE WORST WATCH EVER!!!!!

    not water resistant

    Poor Quality Watch

  • I've been wearing Timex Ironman watches almost 24-7 for the past three years, and my most recent one, the fourth in three years (all of the previous ones ether broke or were eaten by a dog), was of this model. Usually I buy the T5E9719J model, and I regret changing my habits to get this horrible thing with the split strap. The strap turning a sickly color does not bother me as much as the fact that when I brought the thing into about three feet of seawater, the screen clouded up and the buttons stopped working. The strap also started to fall off, and now it barely stays on the watch, instead slipping over the buttons at one corner or another. This watch has lasted me under three months, a much shorter time than any of the other Timex watches I've bought. I would not recommend this watch to anyone. However, most Timexes, despite their poor quality of production, do have a very good digital interface, much better than their competitors.

.comfortable, easy to read, Worn all the time

    Quality, Value, reliability

They function, and you can get some use out of them for a few months at least. And, they really are the only digital woman's watch on the market in my area. However, if there were any other alternatives or competitors in my area, I would not hesitate to try them.

Within 30 days, Strap detached and Condensation

  • This is my second Timex Ironman 50 lap Triathlon watch. The first one is still working, but got some condensation in it after I wore it for a year. I was not upset, but instead purchased a second one. (the pink one shown here) The strap popped off within a month of wearing it and it had condensation inside as well. Let's be clear, I had a baby 2 weeks before I purchased this watch, so I have not been doing deep diving or any major swimming. Very strange that the quality was not consistent. I have started wearing my old watch again. I didn't save the packaging or receipt from the new watch since I did not anticipate any problems with it. Very disappointed.

  • I recieved this watch for Christmas in 09. It is June 29 & the straps around the face of the watch are broke & condensation get into the face. This watch is not waterproof. It takes 2 or more days for the watch to un-fog. Also the light in my watch is not working anymore :/ The color is turning different colors & scratching off easy.

    GREAT WATCH BAD BAND

  • the watch itself is great but the lovely pink wore off the band and it turned grey and dirty looking. The really bad part is I am having trouble getting a replacement band. Even co-workers have noticed how bad the band looks. Timex please tell me how to get a new band.

.Battery life, comfortable, easy to read, Performance, reliable, Worn all the time, looks great when new, holds up to constant hand washing and getting wet

band does not wear well, there is no replacement band

The pink band got ugly and as far as I know you do not offer a replacement band and yet the watch still works great. Could you send me a new band, I don't mind paying for one.

    Poor Strap design -

  • The watch itself is great, but the watch band has not held up well at all. It discolored quickly, then bits of plastic started breaking apart, and now the watch has fallen out of the band. There does not seem to be replacement straps available, so even though the watch is still perfectly fine I'm going to have to buy a whole other watch.

    Not worth it

  • I bought this product about 8 months ago. The watch band turned to greenish-gray instead of the pink color. I took it in the pool once and it got foggy and the numbers dissapeared. The fogginess went away, but it came back a few days ago. I wouldn't reccomend this to anyone.

    poor design

  • I bought this watch for my daughter's birthday. Within 6 months, the band started separating from the watch. Also the color of the band became very dingy and ugly. The watch works fine, but the band design is poor.Called Timex to complain, the repair center said they had had no complaints like this. They will replace the band for $10.00 if you send it to them. Band is not covered in warranty.

We have had many timex watches in our family of 4, because we are all runners, but this watch is the worst one for durability. Guess you can't have looks and durability.

    Good watch BUT band broke

  • I have had two of these watches, and the band has broken on both of them. Because of how the band is attached, it is impossible to replace and you lose the whole watch. I love the watch part - but knowing that the band will break, I can't justify buying another one.

    Very disappointe

  • I am so disappointed in this watch and have bought two of them before. This watch states it is water resistant although as soon as it gets wet condensation forms and lasts for two days. I have never had this problem with the original version, but the new style is not worth the money. Do not buy if you plan to get it wet at all.

    Good watch, bad band

  • I love all the functions of the Ironman watch. But my band also turned gray in a matter of months. The entire band is now separating from the watch itself and the band broke apart at the buckle. Now it's completely unusable.

    Quality, Value

I'm torn because I love the watch, but the band makes it not worth the purchase.

    Hate the band

  • I've used Timex Ironman watches for years. I needed a new one and sent my husband out to buy one for my birthday last November. He bought this watch instead of the typical black one I ususally buy. The band is just horrible. It wasn't long after I got it that the face started to pop out, and now after having it 6 months, the face will completely pop out of the band. Is there any way to exchange this for one with a normal band?

    poorly made....

  • I've had this watch for less than a year. Wanted something to go to the beach/pool with my three kids and to help with my training. Noticed condensation in the face of the watch, then it was dead in less than a week. When finding product number off web site to see about repairs, I noticed the reviews mentioned the same crummy issues.

    Sad to say.....

  • I join the list of disappointed Timex Ironman 50 lap watch owners. I too have used this watch and other Ironman models for over 10 years. I bought my current watch less than a month ago and washed my car in it yesterday. The light no longer works and the strap is no long snug.
