    Sleek 150-Lap Collection

  • This is the worst watch Timex has ever made. I bought one and after about 1 year the strap broke for no apparent reason. Since I liked the watch I figured that it was just my bad luck and I bought another. After approximately 18 month the strap keeper broke and about 3 weeks after that the band broke. The worst part of it is that there are no replacement bands available. You would have to be crazy to buy this watch

    Not Timex's Best

  • I've owned two of these watches. I took the first one back to the store after the crystal fogged up. They gave me another one. After a flight acroos country, I noticed that the crystal had become separated from the base in a couple of locations (looks like air bubbles under the crystal where it is joined to the watch). It is a nice watch, but it is not up to the usual Timex standard of quality.

I've had Timex products for over 25 years. Good watches at good prices.

    Timex Ironman Sleek 50-lap

  • I'm on my second watch. The Indiglo button failed. It is perfect for what I need and use it for otherwise. I'll be very careful with the buttons on my new watch but I shouldn't have to.

    .comfortable, easy to read, Performance

The buttons and band don't hold up.

    Excellent watch

  • Best sports watch for active people. I just ordered my fourth one. It is extremely light and yet of a size that I can easily read. I never take the watch off so it is constantly under water. Easy to clean with soap and water. Heavy sweaters will really like the light open band. Perfect light weight and function for marathons. Unfortunately, what makes the band so cool and comfortable, also makes it the weak point of this watch. Yes, it will wear out with constant use! In order to keep the great design, I accept the fact that the band is not replaceable. My present one has been jury-rigged with mono fishing line for a strap stay. For those who think this is unacceptable, just remember that this watch is only 55 dollars retail. Considering the constant wet use/abuse my watch gets, I think the two+ years I get before band problems is pretty good. The main thing is I want a light open watchband, and accept the fact that it will not last forever. A great value at 55 dollars! Please don't stop producing it.

    Great design at unbelievable price.

    Very Good Holiday Idea

  • I got this watch for my boyfriend for Christmas and he hasn't taken it off sense! It is a really good watch to have for like timing things and stuff of that matter. Definetly a extrememly good gift for a loved one into that kinda stuff.

.Battery life, comfortable, easy to read, Performance, reliable, stylish, Value, Worn all the time, great holiday gift

not able to be taken off!!!!

If any friends love to hike or bike or snowmobile or anything it is super easy to track how long you have been going.

    band issue

  • I love this watch but i've now gone through 2 band holder straps, as pointed out by several other reviewers. This is a bummer because it's not replaceable. The watch is light and comfortable and get's compliments from the ladies.... really??? I'm going to try a rubber band for a bit in these difficult economic times....

.Battery life, comfortable, easy to read, Performance, reliable, stylish, Value, Worn all the time

    Performance, stinking non replaceable strap

It be a 10 if the strap holder didn't break.

    strap doesnt last

  • Love the watch, I am an avid runner, skier, biker. Watch never leaves my wrist. BUT the strap in integrated and cannot be replaced, major flaw in design. With enough use the strap will crack and the strap keeper will break. There is NO replacement for the strap keeper - very annoying since I go through several. Now using rubber bands as keepers. Its a real bummer that a 2 cent piece of rubber will stop you from using a perfectly good watch.

strap cannot be replaced, strapkeeper will break

  • fasteddie

    broken glass

  • glass broke and I don't remember it ever getting hit or anything that would have caused it. It's comfortable to wear if you don't have any pressure on it (like falling asleep with it on and there is any weight on your wrist). That hurts after a while. Otherwise, it's light, comfortable and easy to see the time and date.

.Battery life, easy to read, Performance, reliable, Worn all the time

    reliable. variety

    Agreed: Bad band design

  • After having 2 or 3 of these watches I finally moved on. I love the watch features, but first the rubber piece that holds the band down breaks easily, and I think they purposely desinged the band to pull of the watch after about a year so that it lasts just until when the warranty runs out--and the warranty doesn't really cover the band anyway.

    .Battery life, comfortable, timing features

band breaks easily, unable to replace band yourself, buttons eventually become hit & miss

Because the timing piece is great, but the band and the buttons give out after only a year.

    Mosture? Condensation? Already?

  • I've had this watch for almost 5 months now, and until last week, I was fairly happy with it. It kept track of my splits, and counted down intervals for me. It even kept track of the number of intervals I ran. (Notice the past tense. It used to do all those things, but not anymore.) I purchased the watch because it had great features. In fact, I can't stress enough how much I appreciated the features that this watch offered. Unfortuantely, the features are only useful if they work. And, in the case of this watch, their usefulness was relatively short lived. I have never worn the watch in the shower, or taken it into a pool for a swim (although I expected to eventually), but I did run with it on a rainy day. Apparently, rain is sufficient to cause it to take on moisture and condensation. Rain is enough to cause the indiglo to short out. I can't encourage anyone to purchase this watch. As much as I liked it, it is simply unrelaible.

    .comfortable, stylish, great features

    Quality, unreliable

UNrelaible!!! used to be reliable: Not any longer!!!!

    everything breaks at 18 months

  • Got this as a gift for my Bday. It is comfortable and has good features for lap swims, biking etc. Unfortunately at 1 year the band holder broke and now the velcro wont hold. In addition the start/stop button only works intermittently now. Now, the screen often goes blank so that I need to tap it to get it back-- not so easy on a bike, and it often wont work at all if the indiglo is needed. Ironman this clearly is not-- good features/no durability, more like sprintman.

    not user friendly

  • the buttons are too small, too stiff, too smooth, and just plain cumbersome to use while running. my strap broke within two years of use.... as with all timex watches i'm finding.

strap durability has always been an issue

    Can't replace watch band.

  • Great watch, but who wants to buy a great watch if you can't replace the band.

great - until the buttons/band fails

  • Pros: low profile design (doesn't catch on long sleeves/etc), light weight and water proof, feels comfortable on wrist while running or swimming Cons: 1-2 buttons just stopped working after about 9 months (replacement was sent under warranty), then after 18 months the band failed on the replacement. First the clip that holds the strap down snapped off, then the band itself detached from the watch... all on it's own w/o any trauma. Apparently the plastic band is only held to the base with glue, using some pegs in holes. Over time, skin and dirt collect in the seams and the glue fails -- bottom or top band then disconnects from the body. No watch shop can "replace" the band since it's glued and custom. I just wanted a nice athletic watch to last awhile. It did not.

.Battery life, comfortable, easy to read, stylish, Worn all the time, low profile

Quality, Value, band fails, buttons fail

It's still a nice looking, comfortable fitting, low profile IRONMAN. It just won't last long in my experience.

    Ironman watch

  • I purchased this watch for my son. He runs cross country and track. He is very pleased with it. I hope to purchase another dressier Timex for him for Christmas.

    Bad band

  • As good as the watch works, the band is lousy, it fell off just after 13 months. I cannot find a replacement for it. If you are into daily sports and need a reliable watch, don't buy this one.

.Battery life, easy to read, Worn all the time

    Quality, Value, band

No replacement for band, it is a watch for a year only

    Comfortable watch

  • Pros:It is a very comfortable to wear. Easy to read and I like the dual time zone feature for traveling. Cons: Unable to replace the wrist band. It is a shame that the band can't be replaced.

    Quality, can't replace band

Would not recommend this particular watch

  • The first watch took water with my first swim. I had it replaced (w/o a problem) but the band on the replacement broke after 18 mos. In defense of the product, I did wear it nearly every day.

.easy to read, Value, Worn all the time

    poorly designed band

    unreliable quality

  • CONS: I agree with the other reviews about quality. On my first one, the band came off- it detached from the watch face (it's not even held on by pins). I returned that under warranty, and on this one, after about 6-9 months the buttons half-stopped working, like they're too pressed in or something. Some I have to press really hard to work, others are so sensitive that they are depressed when I place the watch on my nightstand or even while I'm running. PROS: memory, option of Split/Lap or Lap/Split, recall,... all the standard running watch features.

    .comfortable, easy to read, Performance

    Quality, Value

Great features, over-hyped and bad quality. You can find the same [bad] quality in cheaper watches.

Integrated Band gets brittle and breaks easily.

  • Love the functionality and display. But, the integrated watch band broke rendering it useless in the second year of ownership. My wife's broke in the first year!

.comfortable, easy to read, Performance, stylish

Quality, not repairable, battery change is difficult

    Good Watch; Bad Band

  • Watch works well. Nice size. Comfortable. Band cracked after 18 months. Can't find replacement.

    .comfortable, easy to read, Performance

    Genrally good value. Reliable.

    Miss this watch model

  • Worn this watch for three years now. Wore out the excess strap loop. Use black elastic string to store band when on through the buckle. _x000D__x000D__x000D__x000D_Nice weight and wear for running. Sweat and rain no problem. Times nicely with all modes and many options for setup is a big plus. Easy workout data storage. Big display easy to read in daytime. No retained workout odors._x000D__x000D__x000D__x000D_Side buttons stick or have to be pushed more than once to respond - Alarm not loud enough - Night readout still difficult even with indiglo feature - perhaps a slight magnification lens would aid the problem

    3rd Watch b/c of Ban

  • I have completed 3 marathons and 3 MS150s in 3 years. Every year, I have to purchase a new watch. The only reason I continue purchasing the same model is because it has everything I need and it is comfortable. I wish they would fix the band issue or send me a new free watch.

.Battery life, comfortable, easy to read, Performance, reliable, stylish, Worn all the time

The ban breaks on me every year. This time the plastic piece fell off which holds the excess in place.

    Four Years of Service

  • I purchased this watch during preparation for my first 1/2 marathon four yeas ago, and have been wearing it more than my other watches ever since. I think I've replaced the battery twice, and have worn it swimming in the Caribbean and Lake Michigan w/o problems. Now the band has cracked, and I would really like to replace the band. Timex, could you give us that option at a decent cost? or would it be cheaper to buy another?

I've been very pleased with Timex's but this one didn't last like others

    Rip Off

  • Like many others, my watchband broke within a year with only casual use. But the design makes it impossible to replace the band. Now I have a perfectly good watch that I cannot wear any longer. Timex just lost a lifelong customer.

    XC Runner

  • Had this watch for 4 years and the battery never died. The only problem I had with it was the band. It has started to break on me and you can not replace it. I must say that I never take this watch off though. It goes swimming, running, biking with me along with just being my everyday watch. The only complaint I have is that I can not just replace my watch band. The battery and watch face are still good. I feel like it is such a waste having to buy a new watch just because you can not replace the band. Overall though great watch.

    Best Watch Ever !!!!!!!!!

  • I have had my watch like this for about a year and a half and it is GREAT! I am a cross country runner and I use it during my races and on workouts. I have haven't had any issues with it at all. I WOULD SUGGEST IT TO ANY RUNNER.
