Nice watch, but the band isn't adjustable!

  • I bought this watch because it was a nice size and had easy-to-read numbers. The finish is good (sort of like pewter), and it's not too flashy.

However, the wristband length isn't adjustable at all. The instructions that come with it are generic and the links in this watch's band bear no resemblance at all to any of those shown in the instructions. After much puzzling, I finally realized that it's a one-size band. It's a bit too big for my wrist, I haven't decided yet whether it's worth returning.

So all in all, a nice watch - if your wrist is the right size..Battery life, easy to read, Performance, reliable, stylishwristband not adjustableEvery other watch I've bought had an adjustable wristband. Target doesn't have salespeople to help sell watches, so there's no way to tell if the watch fill fit prior to purchase.

    The Best

  • My Timex Classic with the "stretch band" is exactly what I was looking for. I had one years ago that just wore out. I coundn't wait for this as a gift for Christmas. This watch is the best for the price on the market. I especially like the INDIGLO feature..Battery life, comfortable, easy to read, Performance, reliable, stylish, Value, Worn all the timeValue and Style

    Who Needs a Rolex?

  • This is, without a doubt, the most practical, accurate and dependable wristwatch on the market. The Indiglo feature itself is worth the price of the watch. In a movie theater, or other dark area, it just can’t be beat. The battery seems to last forever! If all you need is a good, dependable wristwatch, forget the expensive Rolex and buy one of these..Battery life, easy to read, Performance, reliable, Rugged, Value, Worn all the timeDependable, practical timepieces for very reasonable prices.

Recommend, after receiving info. on wristband adjustment

  • My wife bought me this watch as a quality upgrade to my existing watch, the case of which was corroding. The main problem with the new watch was that the wristband was too big for my wrist, and when I visited this site originally, all I found was a complaint from another reviewer, "john watch," stating: "wristband not adjustable." After registering the product, I submitted a query to Timex Customer Service on this website, referencing the model, Timex T2H451 men's wristwatch, and received a reply the very next day from Faye Martin in Customer Service, with three articles attached. The one that was really helpful was BAND ASSM.ppt, which included detailed photos and step-by-step instructions that showed how to remove several links and then rejoin the wristband. It's now a snug fit on my wrist and I'm very pleased with my new watch.

good watch...really can take a licking!!!

  • I had this watch, and because it was such a good watch, I went and got the gold tone version....here's why:

I work in a factory. every day, I run all over the place, unaware of the things that may happen (bumps, bruises, scrapes, dropping stuff) around or to me. it just so happened that I dropped my watch a few days ago, and I looked all over and couldn't find it. The next day, one of my co-workers brought it back, and it had been crushed by a forklift. it still worked...it was still ticking. it was literally in 4 or 5 pieces, and still ticking. Amazing.

    One flaw

  • I have worn this style for a couple decades. Easy to read, date's right there, no worries about getting it wet, and it does OK as a light in the dark in a pinch. One Flaw: The ONLY reason I have to get a new one every few years is because the control knob wears away and I am left with a stub. Using needlenose pliers works for a while, but then I just give up and figure I deserve a new one. Why does the metal on the knob wear away like that?
