    Timex Easy Reader

  • A great purchase I got my watch within the last month. I have been looking for a replacement watch for over a year. I decided for something simple for now, and could get a fancier watch in time. I like this one a lot. I like the simplicity,it's classic looking. The indiglo light is great for looking at the watch in the dark. It's so much easier to read than digital watches with a light-up function. It keeps good time, and the battery is guaranteed for ten years.

.Performance, comfortable, Battery life, easy to read, Value, reliable, looks good

Good performance, good value, ten year warranty, and good looking

    BATTERY REPLACEMENT PROBLEM

  • I LIKE THE WATCH BUT ALWAYS HAVE PROBLEMS REPLACING THE BATTERY. WALMART (WHERE I BOUGHT AND WATCH, AND LATER, THE BATTERY) DOES NOT CHANGE THE BATTERY FOR THE CUSTOMER.

    Battery life, battery replacement

    perfect watch

  • I actually intended to buy this watch for my wife for Valentines Day but when it arrived it seemed a bit too big for her. Rather than return it I decided to wear it myself as I love the retro styling. I will definitely be buying a ladies version for her and maybe one for my grandma who has impared vision. I have seen a mechanical version of this watch from 1972 in an online auction so that tells me a lot about Timex's durability. This is a great watch to wear everyday as it's classy enough for formal occasions yet rugged enough for the field. I like the fact that it is slim enough to comfortably fit under my gloves when riding my motorcycle. I'm not silly enough to go swimming or diving with it but it's waterproofing is better than advertised, I've had it under a running tap with no problems even though it isn't recommended. I would not hesitate in using it while camping, fishing, hunting etc. I always use an analog watch outdoors because it can be used as a compass if my GPS dies. One thing I may upgrade is the strap to a rubber or NATO one just for a bit more durability or may even get myself the railroad model with a metal band (which I like the look of) specifically for the outdoors. The indiglo feature is another reason why these watches are just as well suited to the field. In all, it's a great old-school watch at an old-school price tag. The only negative is the strap which doesn't look too strong and only just fits my average size wrists (I'm 78 kilograms so I'm not a big guy by any means). Water resistant heavy duty leather or nylon straps would be a better option but these are easy and inexpensive upgrades so it isn't a big deal.

.Rugged, stylish, Performance, comfortable, Worn all the time, Battery life, easy to read, reliable, Value

strap is on the small side and could be stronger

Because Timex lives up to its long standing reputation of making some of the most reliable and accurate timepieces on the planet. I compare my easy reader to my G-Shock, the level of accuracy of the Timex is far superior. My G-Shock gains several minutes per month and gets annoying at work at 2.30 when I go to clock off and find out that it's actually 2.25pm. I don't have any such problems with my Timex.

    Very Convenient Watch

  • I am wearing this watch for one month now. It is extremely easy to read due to the large numerals and hands, the optimal black/white contrast between the hands / the numerals and the face, and due to the INDIGLO illumination. I no longer need my glasses! In addition, it has a simple and elegant design. (I deliberately chose the model without the day of week and day of month display.) The only con is that I can sometimes hear the watch ticking. Here, improvements would be highly appreciated.

    relatively loud ticking

    rugged in the field

  • I just replaced this watch after 12 years of tough service in the field as person who does it all from roofing, to chainsawing trees, to digging ditches, to climbing into wrecked automobiles to extract patients as an Emergency Medical Technician. My old model didn't quit on me it was just that the crystal had seen so many scratches I simply wanted a fresh look to my timepiece. Here's to another 12 years ( or more if I slow down a bit ).

    I absolutely love this watch,

  • I absolutely love this watch, and am about to order a new one...even though my last one lasted less than two years before the minute hand loosened up and became free-floating. Yes, that was irritating, but at these prices we're still talking a great bargain.

    Accuracy, Visibility & Comfort

  • From my perspective, a watch is a tool I use in my practice that must meet the following 3 criteria: accurate; easy to read at a glance; and, comfortable. Nerve damage in my arms do not allow me to tolerate a metal band. The watchband was a little stiff at first but became very comfortable soon thereafter. Regarding accuracy, I set it once and have not had any need to reset it (If I do need to correct anything more than the date it will get trashed). It's easy to read with one quick glance near session's end so that I do not distract my client. Pluses are that it was affordable with a nice, simple yet classy look.

    best watch ever!

  • All I want in a watch is to tell time. With the easy reader I could do that day or night. I have been happy with my easy reader for about 15 years. Finally the battery died. I miss it and have been looking for a replacement.

    Tested by fire.

  • This will be my third purchase of the easy reader watch. I have worn this watch for many years in the Fire Service and have never had it malfunction. It has stood up to some very hot, wet, steamy, dirty envireonments and has performed excellently. The Indigo light feature is especially usefull. I like the fact that this has a ten year battery life now. I look forward to wearing my new watch.

This is a great value and the performance and durability of this watch is excellent.

Pressure-fit back, no screws, hard to change battery

  • In trying my mini screwdrivers to open the back, I damaged the tab that you have to lift. Little pieces of it kept chipping off. Then I tried a 5-in-1 scraper (a knife should work too) and it opened. I replaced the battery and had a hard time getting the back on again. I used my pliers in a bad spot - right by the adjustment knob. They slipped and tore off the knob. I got the cover back on but the watch wasn't ticking. Two hours later I tried poking the hole with a pointed tool and it started, but too late because the time was off and couldn't be adjusted. I tried opening the back to access the dial and manually move the hands, but it was unopenable that this point because of the damage to the tab. I'm not confident I'll remember what I learned the next time I replace the battery so I'm looking for a similar watch, but with a screw-on back.
