    Battery changing

  • This watch needs some redesign. While I love the way it looks and etc, changing the battery is next to impossible. I, nor three jewlers were able to get the cover back on the watch after replacing the battery. Since this is the second time this has happened with the same model, my guess is that it is a design flaw. Too bad, as I really like the watch.

    Indiglo + non-allergic strap

  • Only when all 3 of my Timex Indiglo watches finally broke and could not be repaired (after 12+ years of use) did I fully realize how much I'd come to depend on the light-up-in-the-dark feature. I developed an allergy to leather straps about a decade ago and so the metal expansion band is perfect for me, although it can be a little chilly on cold days. The day and date function is helpful when I travel. My only complaint is that my previous version of the same watch had matte silver rather than "shiny" metal around the dial and the "frame" was flat instead of curved, a combo I preferred to look at.

    Great Watch

  • Watch has kept time within a second for over a month. Date is simple to set. No condensation, or leaks. Some idiots buy a $30 dollar watch and think they can scuba dive with it. This one is perfect for what it's designed for. Very clean looking, and durable. I operate heavy equipment, and vibrations can kill a watch, but not this one.

    True rugged value

  • After alifetime of 'lunching' expensive watches and 'eating' cheap ones; I have finally discovered the EASY READER which holds up to construction rigors and remains easy to read and indecently accurate. The month/day setting is an issue but cant have everything. Ruggedly defiant and very water resistant, this pretty timepiece remains a great value and easy to read classic.

A good watch with 1 problem.

  • This watch fit the style I was looking for perfectly. A name brand watch wit a second hand, numbers, date, metal band, etc., great watch. I had the first one for a few weeks and condensation showed up under the crystal, second one, same thing happened. I'm gonna have to consider something else.

    can't figure this out

  • The watch looks great, and the time is easy to set. However, I can't figure out how to set the day and date. Pulling the crown out as described does nothing to change them. Anyone know how to do this?

    Love the style #T204619J

  • I have tried to wear five of these watches and so far all leak. I took three of them back to Wal-Mart for exchange (over three months). The last two I still have. Took the backs off them to dry them out and couldn't get them back on. I ended up breaking a crystal and cutting my finger. Thinking of giving up on Timex.

I would like you to repair the two watches without any more cost to me

    Christmas gift

  • I am a grown woman and received this watch as a gift from my son per my description of what I wanted for my next watch. I told him I wanted a watch with a very large face and large numbers, no tick marks. That I wanted a metal wrist band with the look of a chain type bracelet. This is as close as he could come to what I wanted. But I do like it even if it is a mans watch. The reason I am commenting on this watch is to see if the designers might be able to come up with a watch like this for a woman. I like my watches big and loose with big bands not designed for teenagers. I will be looking for a new watch band that will hopefully, be a bit more feminine looking. Could someone please realize that not all women are the tiny little model looking girls.

Except for the total masculine look I really like this watch

    Good watch, but

  • Had this watch for a little over a year with no problems, then got caught out in a heavy rain storm with the watch on. I figured it should be ok given the specifications of the watch, however after the rainstorm the watch had moisture inside as evidenced by a misty fog on the underside of the crystal. The watch gradually began to run slower and slower. Thinking that possibly it needed a battery, I changed the battery. No change

Hope it lasts the rest of my life.

  • I've had this or a similar watch for 12 - 15 years, maybe longer. Have replaced the battery maybe twice. I love the watch because it is SO easy to read. I never use the calendar feature (it's too much trouble). Watch keeps excellent time. The only reason I'm looking at this section at this time is that I need a new band, so am looking at what is available.

    EXCELLENT

  • I HAVE HAD THIS WATCH 5+ YEARS. THE WATCH AND BAND SHOW NO SIGNS OF WEAR. THE METAL USED IN EACH IS VERY DURABLE. _x000D__x000D__x000D__x000D_IT IS EASY TO SEE THE TIME AND DATE, DAY (BLACK NUMBERS ON A WHITE FACE) OR NIGHT (HAS INDEGLO). I LOVE THAT FEATURE. KEEPS EXCELLENT TIME. _x000D__x000D__x000D__x000D_EXCELLENT VALUE!!

    Word Traveling Watch

  • This is the best watch I've ever had. I've had this model for nearly 10 years I think. It has traveled with me around the world. It still runs great and has taken a beating and is still ticking. It keeps great time. I've replaced the watch band once with a Twist-o-Flex band which is better suited for my overly large wrists. I hope it lasts forever.

    INDIGLO WHOLE FACE ?

  • Does the INDIGLO feature really light up the whole face of the watch ? Mine stops in a straight line just above the 12 and runs above the 1 and 11. Kind of disappointed in that, but I rely on the 24 hour military time as I work in a hospital and cant keep 1-7 pm straight in my head , ha ha ha. 1300-1900.

    Good watch for old eyes

  • I have been wearing this watch for several months now and I really like it. The large numbers make the dial easy to read and both the day of the week and the date are given. A big bonus is that it includes 24-hour markings, which I personally appreciate. The band is so comfortable I don?t even notice I?m wearing a watch. The backlight, which Timex calls Indiglo, is helpful at night without affecting your night vision. And the best part of all is the very reasonable price for a product that?s been around for years and has proven the name Timex means value.

    A very good value

  • Just bought this one but have had 3 very similar Timex watches in the last 20 years. A dozen Timexs in the last 50 years! I like the clean, basic, classic design. In a world of trendy gimmicks it is reassuringly to have such a reliable and simple devise. My last one was retired after an estimated 8 years. Not because it failed but because the case was rusting and irritated my skin! I wear it basically 24/7. Wet regularly including salt water and more chemicals than is wise.

Hard to beat for the money!

    Good watch with some exceptions

  • I bought this watch when I started nursing school because it appeared easy to read, and the expansion band would allow me to slide the watch up my forearm when scrubbing my hands. It has been a good watch, but I don't wear it as often as another watch I own for the following reasons: 1) The expansion band is uncomfortable - it pinches my wrist and leaves a distinct impression in the skin when I take it off. This would not be a problem for someone with smaller wrists, of course. 2) The second hand is more difficult to see at a glance than I thought it would be because it is so thin and because of its silver color. Coloring it read instead of silver would fix this problem. Positive points: indiglo night light, Timex reliability, easy to read dial, great price.

    .easy to read, reliable, Value

    Uncomfortable

I have always been a fan of Timex because the watches are stylish, reliable, and a great value for the price. This particular watch just hasn't worked out for me.

    Once battery goes, forget it!

  • I don't expect a watch to last only as long as the battery, but this is a classic example of one that did. The back of the watch popped off easily enough to replace the battery, but it was VERY VERY VERY difficult to put it back on again. And then when I finally got it on (it took over 20 minutes!), the second hand was swinging loose! I was quite satisfied with the watch while the battery was good, but poor design forced me to throw it away as soon as the battery died.

    .easy to read, Value

Inexpensive watches, but they're certainly not built to last. "Planned obsolescence" is Timex's motto

    Unable to set date

  • I may change my mind if we ever get the date set on this watch but right now I wish I had never bought it. It would be perfect if we could set the date. We must have a two position stem because when I try to pull it farther I am afraid I will break it. The day of the week keeps changing as we wind the stem.

Too difficult to set date. Have had three people try to no avail.

Best watch EVER for the working man

  • This is the toughest, most reliable, and easiest watch to read EVER!! I cut trees, fish, hunt, and do other tough jobs while wearing my watch and NEVER has it failed in any way. This is not only a watch but a piece of equipment I have with me while deep in the northern MN. forests as well as at weddings. Never will I have any other. Thanks Timex for keeping the working man in mind.

    Worlds Greatest Work Watch

  • If you work with your hands, drive heavy plow trucks or earth moving equipment, or work at a desk with a computer, or assembly line work, this is the watch for you! This watch is versatile, gives time in 24 hr. format and just keeps ticking with the advantage of indiglo display. Great for night-shift workers and night driving. Just a great, all-round water-proof watch that just gets better with age. I love 'em. I've got 2 ( 1 silver, 1 gold) and highly recommend this watch to anyone who wants a reliable, tough, professional looking watch.

    Not Pleased

  • Had the watch for a few weeks and it started showing condensation in the crystal. It then started to run slow, but only periodically. I would be okay for a few days and then all of a sudden, it was 30-45 mins slow. Finally it stopped altogether after approx. 4 weeks. I have NEVER had any trouble with a timex product before, so I had not kept the packaging or else I would try to return it.

    Great watch for medical professionals

  • I have had this watch for about three years with daily wear. Very acurate with time and easy to set. I work as a nurse and also play drums and sports with this watch on with no problems. Battery has finally died. As I tried to replace the battery, could not get the back back on to the watch, it ended up breaking the watch. I see in the reviews that this is a common problem. I would love to see that addresses, but I am currently looking to replace mine with an eaxact replacement. Great watch for my job and lifestyle.

    Reliable Simplicity

  • Large, plain, easy to read face, & Indiglo feature is excellent. Military time numerals also good to have. Very durable, and in 3 months, has kept time within a second or two. No condensation problems, no battery problems. For a battery change, purchasers have no business doing it themselves, that's why they have problems. Also, easy to set, and change day and date. Makes me wonder about people that have complained about these issues. I operate heavy equipment, and watch is subjected to extreme temps, dirt, moisture, diesel fuel, grease, sweat, & heavy vibrations. But, no, I don't scuba dive with it, or wear it in the shower, or hold it under a faucet or running water...which anyone with common sense wouldn't do with a $30.00 watch. For that price, this is an excellent, reliable timepiece, for everyday wear. Just wish it was USA or Union made.

  • I reviewed this watch previously and said I would not recommend it. I have since changed my mind. It still gets a 3-star rating in my estimation, but it's been a very solid watch for me for the last 2 1/2 years. I have several watches and rotate the wearing of each. This one gets worn a couple of times a week on average. The expansion band took some getting used to. It's not a high quality band like some I have had in the past. For a while it tended to pinch my wrist, but it must have gotten "worn in" with use, because it no longer bothers me. The watch has maintained its appearance very well. I still wish it had a red second hand, but it's an inexpensive watch and has been completely reliable. I would recommend it to someone looking for a good, inexpensive watch with an easy-to-read face.

    Rugged with Precision

  • I have had this watch for over a year now, and it is my all time favorite watch. I calibrate the time with the atomic clock in Colorado by synchronizing it with the time on my GPS. It keeps the time very well( +/- 1 second per month). The minute increment markers are clearly visible on the dial. Hours are shown precisely with 12 hours in black and 24 hours in red. Good for listening to shortwave when converting between local time and UTC. I am amazed the durability of this watch-very rugged. It has been hit by various hard objects and vibrations while on the job and I have showered/bathed while wearing it. Going through all of this rough treatment, it still has kept time with a precision of +/- 1 second per month. I am not a research scientist working in a lab, but I know that this watch would be ideal for that type of job setting. Really it would be ideal or any other job where the worker needs rugged, precise time keeping. I only wish that there was an atomic clock signal receiver built in so the watch could set itself. Something for Timex Corporation to consider: Combine the simplistic accurate design of this watch with the added accuracy of an atomic watch-that would be awesome.
