    Use as dress watch

  • I have a $1500 Baum & Mercier dress watch that looks very similar. From 10 feet away people would be hard put to pick out the more expensive watch. And no surprise here - they both keep very accurate time.

    My luck with Timex

  • I bought my Timex in the 1980's. It's the cheapest, and the best watch I've ever owned. I think I've gone through at least four batteries. The only thing wrong with it is that the crystal has one sctatch in it. As Timex says,"it takes a licking and keeps on ticking." I'd recomend one to anyone!

    It's a good watch!

Was a Good Watch for a While

  • I have owned this watch for 4 years and I am very disappointed. It worked great until about a month ago. It kept perfect time and I never had to reset it. Then it started stopping for between a few minutes up to an hour and then started ticking again. I am constantaly having to reset it. I bought a new battery for it 5 days ago thinking the battery was started to go bad. I have never replaced the battery in 4 years. But that didn't solve the problem. I will have to buy another watch. The day and date are very, very difficult to change. The reason is because there is only one stem on the watch that lets the user set the time, day and date. To set the day and date you have to position the stem in just the right location but it is very difficult to find that position. It is a hit and miss proposition. Timex either needs to add another stem to the watch that only sets the day and date or revise the current stem so it is easier to find the location where the day and date can be reset. Overall, I am not satisfied with this watch. I expect a lot more from Timex. Every Timex watch I have owned before, and there have been many, has lasted at least 10 years or more. I am really disappointed that I am going to have to buy another watch after only 4 years. I will buy another Timex watch but not this particular model.

    Fantastic Times EasyReader

  • This is my second Easy Reader Timex. My first one lasted for years but recently died after getting water logged over the 4th of July weekend. I love the Indigo light feature and the fact that I don't have to take it off to swim. The easy reader is great for older eyes and I love the day/date feature.

somehow my old one took on water and died.

Good value for all the features and very reliable.

    My third Indiglo Easy Reader

  • I have just bought this watch for the third time in a row. It is readable without my glasses, it has a light for night use, it works fine for outdoors including sailing (good sweep second-hand) but is also suitable for dress wear. My many previous beautiful expensive watches were either too delicate or too hard to read especially in bad light. Having a separate sport watch was a huge nuisance and I didn't and don't need all their bells and whistles, which also made them inappropriate for formal occasions. So this is my most useful watch ever.

died when dipped briefly 3 feet under water.
