“Good, Dependable Watch -- But Old Technology”

This is very much like the dependable Timex that I owned about 20+ years ago. The model that I have now is 100% gold-toned (just like my old one was), not the 2-toned color in this picture, but I'm sure that they are mechanically similar. This is a good-looking dressy watch, which I wear for the office. I just can't see spending a forture for a decent-looking dress watch, when I don't have money to burn. Just like my old Timex, it works fine and keeps decent time. However, because it is mechanical, it still has 30-year old technology when it comes to the end of each month, when you have to change the dates manually to adjust for 30 (or 28 - or 29-) day months. You have to pull out the crown knob to the "middle" position (whatever or wherever that is), then you have to crank the watch hands forward until 2 AM until the date (number) changes, then you go backwards (counter-clockwise) until 6 PM, and then repeat, if you have to move more than 1 date. This is a real hassle the first time you do this, since if you don't do it right, then the day of the week also changes and you have to change that, too, which is just as tedius a chore. Once you have, you're good for the month (and maybe 2, if it's a 31 day month), but then, you have to adjust it every other month, with less than 31 days in it! If I had a choice, I would really have preferred to buy a nice-looking, gold-tone, dressy electronic digital watch, that doesn't cost a fortune. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a replacement for my last Casio.

I can not find the replacement anywhere now!
