    Highly recommended

  • This Analogue/Digital watch has a very easy to read display, simple to set alarm, is comfortable and light to wear. The Indiglo light is quite bright and I have used as a torch to light my path at night! The multiple time zones are handy, the alarm reliable and the stopwatch convenient when required. Battery lasted several years before requiring replacement and watch never missed a beat. Band did start to slightly fray at the edges after a few years. This watch is so good someone recently stole mine. This is an excellent watch hence why I without hesitation have bought the same watch as a replacement. Second watch I have bought in ten years and they have both been this watch! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

    Bad digital parts

  • I love the timex brand. I bought this watch but returned it due to the digital part. I couldn't program it and I am engineer that both writes and programs logic controllers for industrial machines.

    .Performance, stylish

    Value, functionality

Not made in China, Made in America (I hope), origins to the Waterbury CT clock company, and Timex brand name. Good quality watch.

I'll give it one more try

  • This is the fourth time I have bought the same watch. I was very happy with the first two. The first one I wore for years until I lost it. The second one I wore even longer until the strap wore out. However, the third one had problems with the stem. It kept coming out on its own which would stop the hands. Then the stem broke off after less than a year I believe. I am ordering it one more time and will be more careful to keep my receipt this time. Reading other reviews it looks like they are using a poorer quality stem than they used to.

    Great watch great value

  • I received this model a number of years ago (3 or 4 now) and I still have it and I still use it to this day. It isn't the most attractive watch on earth, but it gets the job done and it keeps pretty good time. In that time I've had to change the batter at least twice, however, the analog and digital display seems to drain more battery life than one might normally expect, but changing out the battery is easy so it's not a big deal. The old rubber strap that kept the excess watchband from flapping all over the place broke ages ago, and my wrist is rather small so I had to make another hole for the watch fit my wrist without sliding all over the place. Despite these flaws I still like this model and would recommend it as a good value, and fairly rugged (despite the loss of the strap). The dial is all kinds of beat up, but I can still read it, and the face seems resistant to scratching. The band breaths, too, which is nice for exercising.

Who buys a watch that isn't Timex? I will without a doubt be buying another Timex during my military career.

    expedition resin combo watch

  • This is an excellent watch but the case size needs to be a larger 48mm instead of the little 38mm case size. The smaller size makes it almost look like a (borderline) ladies watch. What an awesome watch this would be if it were 48mm.

almost too small case size make it a 48mm case

    Not a good purchase

  • I have purchased this watch three times in the past two years. I replaced the batteries when they failed thinking it that will fix the problem. The battery replacement did not help. I will not buy this watch again.

    .comfortable, easy to read

Battery life, will not keep the right time.

The last three expeditions did not work correctly just bought a different style timex if it does not work more than six months. I will not buy anymore timex watches.

    Love this watch!

  • Absolutely love this watch! I have much more expensive watches( that have to be taken to expensive jewelry stores to have battery change)This battery I change! This watch is VERY readable, just the right size, and I like the look. Indiglo works great! I will buy another, and recommend this watch highly! only con is I have had to change the battery since receiving it last Christmas. BUT...I don't know how long it sat on the store shelf either.

Just because I like it so much! I asked for this watch as one of my Christmas presents. Timex is an excellent old American company, with reliable products

    Great watch but....

  • Great watch. Rugged and reliable. However, I am unable to wear this watch on my left wrist because I for some unknown reason the stem of the watch pulls out and stops the hands. It does work great if I carry it my pocket or wear it on my right wrist.

.Battery life, comfortable, easy to read, Performance, reliable, Rugged, Value

the stem comes out on it's own.

I would be weary of recommending this watch because of the stem coming out on it's own. I was very upset when I found it would not keep time if I wore it on my left wrist and I am right handed.

  • Can see time in analog with date/day in digital, or other choices. Also nice to have basic compass if hiking.

    Great Military Watch but......

  • I've used this watch for past 7 months in Afghanistan and it is a great watch except for one annoyance (mentioned in previous reviews). First the pros: subdued colors blend naturally with camo, dust wipes off band with simple swipe of wet rag, the indiglo light is money for checking time at night, set the analog to local time and the digital clock is good for setting to Zulu. The rotating bezel is great for calculations. (Tip: put the 00 under the half-hour, then you can use the bezel to read minutes from analog minute hand and just subtract the appropriate # hours to know your local time back in US). Con: The digital watch procedures for setting the time, date, alarm and resetting the stopwatch are horrible and not intuitive. As a matter of fact, I'm only writing this review because I was trying to find a digital copy of instructions on how to reset the time. Overall a great watch. I wound up buying 2 more because my interpreter and the Afghan commander I work with wanted one.

.Battery life, comfortable, easy to read, reliable, Value, Worn all the time

    digital setting

Price vs features vs durability. Fix the digital setting steps (ie make simple like Casio G-Shock) and this watch is money.

    Great Military Watch

  • For the last two years I have been using this Resin Combo in a busy command centre. I use the analog watch to display local time and the digital window to show Coordinated Universal Time (ZULU Time). When planning, the analog watch face doubles as a ready “worksheet” where using my index finger I perform quick time estimates and calculate times in other time zones. The watch allows perfect synchronization to the second and maintains it for many days without adjustment. The rotating bezel ring allows elapsed time for an incident to begin to be measured instantly with accuracy to the minute. This is a low tech feature I hope will be kept. The Indigo feature is essential for night and low light conditions as are the luminescent minute and hours hands. The earth tones of this watch and strap are an asset for use in the field and its washable strap is an ideal for sweaty and dusty conditions. The watch is light and very comfortable. I found two deficiencies. First, the procedure for setting digital time and 24 hour time is rather involved and unforgiving with much pushing of different buttons. You need to have the manual in front of you and even then it may take several tries to get it right. Secondly, the analog watch stopped working after only 24 months of normal use. This is a durability issue. It should last longer. I will be buying another Resin Combo because it’s ideal for my work in a command centre and its price provides great value for money. If accessing and changing the various digital functions can be simplified and the analog life span increased, I would give this watch a top rating.

.comfortable, easy to read, Performance, reliable, stylish, Value, Worn all the time, good military watch, appearance

digital procedures, life span analog watch

great military watch combining analog & digital time. Rotating bezel ring, luminescent hands and military appearance.

    Durable, consistent, long life

  • I've had this watch for three years, wear it every day during workouts and remodeling work. It has constantly kept the correct time, date, alarm, stopwatch, light, all functions still working. Have replaced the battery once. The lens is scratch resistant. The band is like new. I would like a brighter watch face so it is easier to see. Great watch, fair price, would gladly purchase again.

    Attractive basic watch

  • for looks, durability, accuracy and low cost, with the convenience of Indiglo viewing in the dark, you just can't beat this watch. I haven't figured out how to keep the date display up constantly; but that's no big deal.

    My travel watch

  • This watch works for me as I do a lot of international travel. I keep my home local time in the digital display and then merely change the analog to reflect the time in my present location. The watch keeps very accurate time (much better than my Rolex). The other advantage is that I don't like to wear the Rolex when travelling for security reasons

Good value - rugged and reliable

  • All I can say is that I bought this watch at the BX at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Have had not problems with it and it has worked great. It has worked well for getting wet and being subjected to high heat every day. I would definitely recommend this watch to others working over here in the Middle East

overall, decent watch for the field!

  • I am in the US Army and I ordered this watch last February while I was deployed in Iraq. I swapped out the wristband with a homemade tan 550 cord woven bracelet with a fastex buckle. It turned out really cool and it was pretty easy to do.

Good watch.. wish it lasted longer

  • I bought this watch last year before going to northern Canada for work. I really like the look of it and put it through a lot of use. After about 3 months the winding dial broke off and some water managed to get inside the watch and it never worked again.. That said I would likely buy this watch again

    Title

  • My first Timex, given to me as a gift many many many years ago. Had only the battery replaced twice in its life. Nice, rugged-looking but simple style. When I lost it, I bought the same model watch. The old one was found a week after at a clinic. I sold the new one to a coworker because I preferred my old one (even if the model was the same) hehehe

I have bought this watch a couple of times

  • I have bought this watch a couple of times once when i first joined the military a few years back, once while I was deployed because the first one got messed up somehow, and the third time about a year and a half ago. The only time I had a problem was when I was in Iraq the watch alarm started going off for no reason. So I threw it away because the alarm wouldn't stop. Every other watch I had in this model worked great. My current one the band broke but I made a band out of paracord and kept using it. I have also find it to be easy to program on the digital side.

    Luv it but leave it!

  • Love the way the expedition resin combo watch looks. But the instructions totally Suck!

The Buttons hurt my finger tips. But what bothers me worst of all is the the Date does not show unless you keep pressing one of the buttons. What idiot engineer ever thought that up?

I purchased a similar watch from Casio, never even looked at the instructions and the date just stays on when I want it to!

    Durable

  • I have had an Expedition Resin Combo over a decade and it continues to perform. If you are the type looking for hockey puck size bling to define your sexuality, read no further. This is a low cost adventurer's watch providing needed amenities in a lightweight and relatively compact package with good water resistance. Although the interface is not immediately intuitive, it does offer multiple time zones, alarms, and beep options. The indiglo is robust enough to serve as tent light in a pinch. I have replaced the strap with nylon NATOs to better deal with climatic adversities and the second hand with a luminous version. This is certainly not the most attractive watch, but given the difficultly finding these more compact lightweight field watches, this is a keeper.
