Love the watch, but it has a problem.

I received the TIMEX Resin Combo watch for the Christmas before last. I love the watch and will most likely never wear a watch that is not combo again. I also like the dual time zones, I live right on a timezone line, so having the option to switch the digital part of the watch to the other time zone is great. Also, as a student, I find myself using the watch to check the date more than anything else.

That being said, there are some minor problems, and a major one, with the watch. First, setting and using any digital function will either require the instructions to be right in front of you(and still some luck), or a photographic memory and a lot of luck. This includes using the stopwatch and the alarm. The major problem with this watch is durability. the watch face chips easily. The last time I started to set the analog time on the watch, the crown (wheel) pulled right out of the watch. I thought maybe I could still use it to set the watch, but I was wrong. I will either have to buy a new watch, or take it apart and try to fix it. Both these choices will most likely result in me having to buy a new watch.

Lastly, one more positive. I you want to use your own band, or make one out of paracord, like I did, this is the watch for you.

      Perfect Army Watch

This is my third Timex Expedition in 13 years. My first Expedition was one of the older ones and got filled up with sand and filth on my first deployment to Iraq. My second one my brother swiped while I was on leave. This one I got for my second deployment to Iraq and has lasted me 6 years. No dirt inside this one. Between the analog and the two digital times I can set Local, Home Station, and Zulu times zones. The nylon strap can have all the dirt and sweat scrubbed out of it unlike leather. The Battle Brown/OD Green/Desert Tan and Black goes perfectly with the new multicam ACUs. Only thing wrong with mine is the plastic keeper for the excess strap finally broke off.
