    Outstanding Watch For A Man

  • I'm a guy but I don't like those large, cumbersome watches for men, so I decided to buy an Expedition at Target. So far it's been excellent and I expect it to be very durable because my old Timex Triathlon lasted for years. 1. I like the wristband because it's very light and comfortable. 2. I like the design and small size of this watch, for me it's perfect. The numbers are easy to read and it isn't large and uncomfortable like most men's models. I want a watch, not a clock on my wrist. 3. Figuring out how to set the date and time was somewhat tricky, but once I did, it was relatively easy. I've only had the watch a couple of weeks, but so far I love it. In fact, even my girlfriend likes the way it looks and we rarely agree on the appearance of anything.

.Battery life, comfortable, easy to read, reliable, Rugged, stylish, Value, size is perfect

I had a Triathlon that worked well for approximately 15 years. It would probably still be running if I replaced the battery, but I decided to get a new watch. I like Timex because they're rugged/reliable, they have good customer service, and they make it easy to change batteries. In addition, the Expedition looks great

    Suitable for guys...

  • I wanted a watch that looks good, is accurate, water resistant, able to take everyday knocks and, more importantly, isn't too big on the wrist. Timex have several models in this Expedition range with only cosmetic differences to the case and strap. All of them look great, but I decided on this all black version. As a guy, I was a bit worried that a midsize watch might be too small (and girlie) for my 7" wrist, but I'm pleased to say that it isn't at all, though Timex also have a larger version (T45961 and variants). Personally, I prefer the smaller size. Having a resin case means it's also very light and durable. I won't dwell on the features as these are pretty much standard for a digital watch, though the digits are a good size and in addition you do get three alarms and a timer, plus one other feature that sets Timex apart and which I love - Indiglo - in this case illuminating only the digits not the whole face, which I think is more refined. I'm also greatly impressed with the overall finish and quality feel of the watch. For example, the lettering is etched, rather rather than printed, and the buttons have positive and wobble-free operation. I've decided to keep the supplied strap primarily because it's extremely well made. I thought it would be flimsy and need replacement, but if anything the opposite is true. Apart from having resin pieces at the spring bar ends engraved with the 'E' logo, greatly adding to the overall look, it's made of a double layer of nylon and edge stitched. It's therefore quite thick (about 2mm) with a substantial stainless steel buckle and the holes are very cleanly cut and finished with no burrs. I think it adds greatly to the overall quality and I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts for the lifetime of the watch. I also think that the black and grey stripes on this model look cool, too! Overall, a very good-looking, unobtrusive and durable watch, and quite impressive quality even at twice the price. If you're a guy looking for a smaller size watch with no loss of functionality or features then I'd have no hesitation in unreservedly recommending this, and/or other Expedition series watches from Timex.

.small but not too small, looks cool, solid despite light weight, large digits, indiglo, well built, good strap length

    acrylic crystal

Owned many Timex watches. Love the Expedition range - have several. Use an Ironman Triathlon for running which gives me all the info I need and then some.

    A nightmare to set

  • This watch is okay if you want to know what time it is and what day and are satisfied with a 12hr PM/AM format. Formatting it to 24hr has proven impossible as has the setting in of time for two time zones. I can get "FORMAT" to display but only for a split second. Resetting the time is not particularly easy either, the buttons go very hard. Maybe one is supposed to put the watch in a vise and then use a screwdriver to push the buttons.

.comfortable, easy to read, Worn all the time

    difficult to set

Difficulty in setting. Watch does not have the features claimed for it.

    Active Person's Watch

  • This watch presents a very nice option for the truly active person who is seeking function over bling. Its compact design minimizes weight and the potential for damage. The forward mounted Indiglo button is thoughtfully placed and the illumination is benchmark. I replaced the rather nice nylon band with a Timex resin band to better deal with environment and sweat. Much prefer this watch to my Ironman. In short, this is a perfect beater watch for an adventurer or athlete, male or female.
