    Durable and cheap

  • As a safety officer in a petrochemical refinery, I get into all kinds of things. This watch has been banged around, splashed with chemicals and gotten really dirty. Still works great and looks decent. My last Timex went for ten years out here until I lost it over the edge of the dock. Highly recommended. I'd rather have a Breitling, but this will be fine.

    Great watch , bad band

  • This is my 2nd expedition, 1st got scratches on face easily. 2nd only lasted 6 months due to band breakage. Other reviews also show easy band breakage.

  • At first use, this appeared to be the perfect watch. No inflexible molded band, like many of the IronMan series, indi-glo, lap timer for 99 laps. After my first race in it, I tried to find the display of my lap times. This is NOT a function of the watch. It'll count your laps, and show you the FINAL lap time and the count of that lap with the split time. But there is no way to recall the rest of the splits. To a marathoner or racer interested in their lap times, counting splits without a way of recalling them afterward is pretty useless.

    .comfortable, easy to read, Value

    no split recall

My friends are racers, marathoners and runners. I don't understand the point of a split timer that has no recall function.

    Nice watch... for a guy

  • Love the quality of Timex watches, but lost mine so here I am to buy a new one. I had a blue women’s expedition watch, and this one seemed to be the closest to what I had. Warning ladies, this is a man’s watch. It IS a beautiful watch, but when I got it, the face of the watch was way too big for my wrist so I am returning it. If you’re buying this for a man, then he’ll love it. It’s a good solid watch that will last for a very, very long time. The problem is the only choices for women’s sports watches these days is either the rubberish resin kind (hate those, they slide all over the place if you sweat… during AZ summers outside… you can’t help but sweat a lot) or they have the Velcro straps (after some wear they do not stay fastened). Sorry, Timex, but those two types of wrist bands are just cheesy and cheap looking, and IMO diminishes the quality look of your watches. Please go back to the sturdy leader straps.

Quality, it's all about the quality of your watches.

    Good price, good durablilty.

  • I served in the Corps for 7+ years and have worn this watch in the desert, in the jungle and in combat water testing. From the office to the field this is by far the best watch for the price I have ever purchased. After several years of wear and tear the only problem I have with it is a slight scratch on the watch face. All and all, very worth the purchase.

    Practical and easy to use

  • I take this watch everywhere...sauna, skiing, climbing and swimming. I've never had any problems using it. Very convenient for travel as well. The watch has three separate alarms and has capability for easy conversion to a different time zone. My only complaint is that the battery seems to only last two to three years.

.comfortable, easy to read, Performance, reliable, Rugged, Value, Worn all the time

    Battery life

It's a great watch, but nothing to go crazy over....bottom line is you just want something to tell you the time.

    Most functional watch

  • I have had a similar model for over 10 years, and just replaced with this. The band is very handsome, and the watch case is the right size. I don't want to wear an alarm clock on my wrist. But, what is best about this watch is its functionality. I use the alarms daily- to remind me of an appointment, to make a call, etc. I use the timer frequently as well, to remind me to pull something out of the oven, or the dryer, etc. I don't know why anyone would have a watch that only tells time.

.easy to read, Performance, stylish, Value, Worn all the time

    For all reasons noted above.

    Timex Expetition Chrono Alarm Review

  • I started using this watch several years ago; I buy a new one every year or two. I like it because it is digital, has 3 alrams as well as a timer and chrono. It is a very good looking watch and very reasonable in price as well as being very dependable.

    Amost good

  • Overall a good watch and I like the styling. However, there are two exceptions. If you workout with it, the band absorbs sweat and after awhile will start to smell. But it is easy to wash it, or shower with it. It takes awhile to dry, but not too bad. The bigger issue, and to me it is inexcusable, is that when you are done timing your laps, miles, etc, you can NOT go back and review them. It does NOT have a recall function. After a long run or a race, I like to go back and write down my splits. You cannot do that with this watch. All other Timex watches I've had can do this, but this one cannot, which is very disappointing.

  • I bought this watch Sep of 2011 at basic training. I wore it everyday and it when through some hard stuff. I still have it and wear it everyday. I love this watch. It is well worth it.

I received this as a gift

  • I received this as a gift probably about a decade ago. It's hadsome, functional and refuses to die.

    Always have two...

  • These watches are really nicely designed and I have both color styles. Mine have survived swimming but **not** intro. scuba training in a pool...bought a replacement...

sure does take a licking, and keeps on ticking

  • I got one of these watches back when i was in third grade and it served me well into my second year of high school. I wore this watch every day all the time in the shower, when i'm sleeping etc... because i was afraid i'd forget to put it on. one time i did take it off and left it in the pocket of my pants, the watch then went where all dirty cloths end up, the washing and drying machine... when i got my cloths out of the washer and noticed the watch in the pocket i pulled it out and it was still working just the same, with nothing to show for this except a few scratches. in the end there was nothing that could get this watch to stop working and i only stopped using it because one of its very mistreated buttons started to stick. the only thing about this watch that disappointed me was the wristband itself, it fell apart and was in pretty rough shape; however, that was easy enough to replace with another more durable rubber one.

In the end, this is a great first watch for a kid of any age, they will not be able to break it, trust me.
