Nanette Lepore Spring 2013: Sporty and Saturated

At Nanette Lepore this season, the designer presented a “techno porcelain” vision featuring saturated greens, acid oranges, and vivid blues paired with hits of dramatic black-and-white. It’s a look for a lady-who-lunches…in St. Barth’s. Between SCUBA lessons.

The collection is feminine and just a little beachy (I love the models’ textured, slightly windblown updos)…but with a sporty edge. My #1 favorite look in the collection: a pair of striking checkered pants paired with a knit sweater in a not-for-the-faint-of-heart shade of green and a crisp white blazer.

For a ready-to-wear take on the style, try a brightly colored dress with a flirty hemline, and pair it with a sporty black-and-white accessory like Timex’s Weekender Slip Thru.

Another option: let your accessories do the heavy lifting by going for a black-and-white outfit (you know you’ve already got that in your closet) and adding a pop of color with the Weekender Slip Through in a green-and-pink stripe.
