Timex Device Agent

Periodically, Timex will update the programming for its Device Agents, to improve performance and add features. It’s important to make sure you have the latest update to get the best experience with your training tool. Find your product below to determine if you need the USB or Wireless Device Agent desktop software that will allow you to customize settings and save workouts.

USB Device Agent

Run Trainer™ 2.0, Global Trainer™, Run Trainer™ and Cycle Trainer 2.0 Installation Steps:
  1. Choose from a link below to download then select RUN
  2. Windows Download

  3. If prompted, give permission to launch the setup wizard
  4. Follow the steps shown in the setup wizard
  5. For Mac users, download, double-click the file, drag the Device Agent icon onto the Applications folder

Wireless Device Agent

Race Trainer™ / Race Trainer Pro™ Installation Steps:
  1. Choose from a link below to download then select RUN

Windows 8 Global Trainer Driver Installation

Clean (new) installations of Windows 8 or 8.1 do not automatically install the driver needed for your Global Trainer, so you will need to manually install the driver.

Some other versions of Windows may also have difficulties installing the driver.

To install drivers in Windows, you may need to use the following manual driver installation instructions:

  1. Make sure the Global Trainer is not connected to the computer.
  2. Determine which version of Windows you have (32-bit or 64-bit) (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/which-operating-system)
    1. Check for operating system info in Windows 8.1 or Windows RT 8.1
      1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings. (If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)
      2. Tap or click PC and devices, and then tap or click PC info.
      3. Look under Windows for the version and edition of Windows that your PC is running.
    2. Check for operating system info in Windows 8 or Windows RT
      1. On the Start screen, type Computer, press and hold or right-click Computer, and then tap or click Properties.
      2. Look under Windows for the version and edition of Windows that your PC is running.
    3. Check for operating system info in Windows 7 or Windows Vista
      1. Click the Start button, enter Computer in the search box, right-click Computer, PC is running. then tap or click Properties. PC is running. and then click Properties.
      2. Look under Windows for the version and edition of Windows that your PC is running.
    4. Check for operating system info in Windows XP
      1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
      2. If "x64 Edition" is listed under System, you're running the 64-bit version of Windows XP.
      3. If you don't see "x64 Edition" listed under System, you're running the 32-bit version of Windows XP.
  3. Download the zip file with the drivers from the following link: http://www.st.com/web/en/catalog/tools/PF257938
  4. Extract the zip file to your desktop (right click and choose "Extract").
  5. Depending on whether your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit (determined in Step 2), run either the 32-bit (VCP_V1.3.1.Setup.exe) or 64-bit (VCP_V1.3.1_Setup_x64.exe) installer by double-clicking on it.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions for the driver installation.
  7. Once the installation is complete, connect the Global Trainer to the computer and power on the watch. Press the MODE button until you see PC Sync mode.
  8. Open the Timex Device Agent software. If the drivers installed correctly, the Settings, Download, and Erase buttons should no longer be grayed out.

Windows 8 Cycle Trainer Driver Installation
