Rated 3 out of 5 by Lazaro from Like the watch but ... I like this watch a lot. I've had it for over a year and gave it day to day use. It has cool functions that I use. The only thing is that out of nowhere my strap broke off. The material seems to have stressed and snapped off. Now im not able to find a replacement for my straps. Which is an issue. It seems like the only solution is buying another one. I dont really like that option.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jdebevec77 from Great Watch out of the box I just want to say that I have only had this watch for one day but I am very impressed. Great band, great face, great modes (compass especially), and great look. I love the indiglo light feature, far better than any other lights for a watch. I would have given the watch 5 stars but at this point I am not sure how the band will hold up. However if the bands last at least 18 months and getting a new band and replacing the band isn't a huge pain then this rating will be a 5. Would recommend this watch for anyone who likes to spend their weekends getting lost in the wilderness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jwdavis1957 from Update on: Band Broke On Battery Replacement I ordered the replacement band from a sweet lady with Timex, and it was only $12. Shipping was free and there was no tax. I did not know shipping was free until I received the band and opened the envelope. There are no instructions anywhere on earth for replacing the band on Timed Expedition T49612JV , so here is the procedure: 1. The two hex screws on each band fastening it to the movement are NOT ACTUALLY SCREWS :) You can turn them 2-3000 times and they will never come out. They just pop in and pop out, but first punch out the thin steel pin that you can see from either side. It slides right out and you can remove it with some pliers. I used a very small allen wrench to get it started out and removed it with pliers. Then I pulled the band over and OFF the two little fake hex bolts, leaving them protruding from the movement. Then use pliers to easily pop off the fake hex bolts. Slide your new band into position, push in the steel retaining pin and pop in the fake hex bolts. Push the fake bolts in tightly with an allen wrench and you are done.

Rated 3 out of 5 by jwdavis1957 from Band Broke On Battery Change The watch case is strong and incorporates good technology, but the screen is difficult to read in low light and the indiglo is weak. Worst, the battery died and the band broke (snapped in half) when I replaced the battery. You see, to open the battery compartment you have to push (gently) the bands apart as they are in a natural wrist curve as the default design. So while holding the band apart with one hand as I unscrewed the four backing screws to access the battery, the band simply snapped, splitting on the inside across the entire width of the band. So disappointing, and I do hope that Timex has a replacement band. Other wise, I foolishly wasted my money on this unit. If you want one, make sure they offer an exact replacement band. I do not yet know or I would share that info with you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by tanker47 from Amazing watch with a not so amazing watchband... The watch and all of it's functions are great. I have owned one for three years now, however, I have gone through three replacement bands. I use the watch daily and each band only lasted about a year. My watch was the black version, but they no longer offer the black one, and the replacement bands only come in the olive drab color. But I like the watch so much that I ordered the green band anyway. The watch bands are inexpensive through Timex ($12 I think), just wish they would last longer. Thanks!

Rated 3 out of 5 by dantejohnston44 from Not a good watch for long use... This watch is good for the short term but if you have it for a long time the strap will start getting crumbly and break apart and I tried to fix multiple times but it doesn't work. Good watch but needs a tougher strap.

Rated 4 out of 5 by docplouffer from More of the same apparently I am currently on my second of these watches. I got the first while on active duty due to its durability. After a few years, yes years, the band broke. Now on my second one and I can see that the band is beginning to break again. I see that this is a common complaint for this watch. I work in an emergency room and love this watch because it is nonporous and in that environment that quality is very important. When my first band broke I was not able to find one that matches this style. I was still not able to find a similar one on your site. Again, I love the watch. The band however needs work.
