CAMPER MK1 large
The Timex Archive project combines historical know-how with a refined design aesthetic, a true expression of values that Timex has passed on since 1854 to this day. Part of the Pioneers collection, the Camper MK1 model is a re-release of the first Camper model from the 80’s. A “civilian” version of the watch adopted by the US Army for its convenience and functionality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Took a lickin' and kept on tickin'! I bought this watch as a cheap watch for daily use. I'm an artist and bartender so my hands are constantly wet and tend to get dirty, grimy, sticky and gross. This watch stood up to a couple years of abuse. It cleaned up easily and had a classic understated look. One day I lost it while trimming the hedges. I missed it for a while then kind of forgot about it. A new watch, even at this price, simply was not in the budget. About a year later, I was trimming the hedges once again, and while raking up the clippings I noticed something shiny. It was my old Timex. Not only was it still ticking, but it was only one minute behind my iPhone. It sat out in the weather through a hurricane and a New England Winter for a year and is still ticking. I cleaned it up and put it right back on my wrist. There was some condensation inside so I opened the crown and let it sit overnight. In the morning it was as good as new. When the battery in this watch finally dies, I'll buy another! It's probably cheaper to do so than replace the battery.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Battery Let me start by saying that simplicity is beauty, and that's exactly what this watch is. A beat up, old Timex Camper (possibly beyond repair, but still ticking since long ago, sitting on my desk) I found in a pile of broken watches at a flea market lead me to the MK1... and my soon to be disappointment. I received it in the mail to notice it was running on a tiny SR626SW battery which may last me 1-2 years where as the old Timex Camper I found has a CR2016 Lithium Cell - This battery will last for years! It's still going! Some say 7-10 years, reported. There is no comparison! My question is: Why did you make the change? Please put a CR2016 in the MK1. This watch is a piece of classic gold... that's missing the diamond (CR2016 battery). I don't even care that the entire watch is plastic or it has a fabric strap, and that's evident because I bought it. I care more that, every 1-2 years, I'll have to service it opposed to 7-10. Even then, it's not so much about servicing... It's more about a great thing being taken away, truly knowing it was once there, but no longer is. This watch deserves a bigger battery, so please do it this justice. Everything else is perfect, don't change anything else! Give it a battery which will make it last for 7 years maximum, at the least. I’m even willing to settle for 5 years, but not this tiny battery. Then, will you get Five Stars from me, easy, without hesitation, without resentment, I'll recommend it to others, and I will buy it again no matter the cost. Otherwise, sadly, I may be returning the MK1 and trying to restore the old Timex Camper...
